I dont know if its because I didnt read the first book in this series but I found the first half of the book really slow.  However once the two main characters actually started bantering and having good conversation they were really cute.

THIS is how you start a book!

I love when a book starts with a bang and boy does this one.

I read Whisky Business last year and had such a good time with it I knew I needed to jump on this one! It did not disappoint and dare I say, the author has stepped up her craft! This is one you won’t want to miss!

What’s to love…
- black cat FMC + Golden retriever MMC (reverse grumpy/sunshine)
- He’s is down BAD for her
- forbidden romance (ex-fiancee’s brother)
- age-gap (9 years)
- A++++ banter and tension
- well-developed characters (and a side of trauma, and healing)
- Isle of Sky (small-town) Scotland setting
- dual POV (so we get to see how much of a simp the MMC is)
- SPICY

Midaliscious, but that’s alright! The characters are still likable and I loved the pet names. I read the audiobook version and the voice actors did great. My main reason for labeling this as more of a kid book is that it kind of dragged and there also was not enough heat at the peak. There was more conflict around a missing cat than the gaping hole in certain familial relationships.
