I figured it out – mostly – about halfway through. I did, however, enjoy the novel within the novel

Fun thriller that satirizes authors and the publishing industry. The characters aren't particularly compelling, but I was engrossed by the plot and enjoyed the twists. Read very quickly and immediately started the sequel.

The Plot has layers of twists and turns - it’s enjoyable from start to finish, but it’s impossible to put down once it gets going. Loved the structure of a novel within a novel, and the writing is clear and compelling.

A really great read from the very beginning. And deliciously awful villains all around. I especially liked the very complex commentary in questions about appropriation, the ownership of stories, and whether writing can be taught or is innate (I teach writing, and the answer is ‘yes’ 😂💅🏿🤷🏿‍♂️💜). Looking forward to reading the aptly titled follow-up “The Sequel.”

i think it was pretty slow for me til the end, like a lot of it was just the main character being stressed, but the end was pretty good! i think it was tied up well, though the twist wasn’t INSANE. i did like the parts of the fictional book inside the real book
