First I really wanted to like this book for all its quotes and wittiness but found it a bit over-the-top and silly, then I really didn't want to like this book because as a proper Jane Austen fan I couldn't condone such behaviour as Charlotte's and in the end, it was just a lot of fun to read and made my own wild witch heart happy.

I didn’t like this one as much as the third one, mostly because Charlotte really just annoyed me as a protagonist. Alex was dreamy, but at the same time he felt flat. I also felt the conflict was fabricated (and yes, I get this is all made up fantasy, but still, I was consistently pulled out of my enjoyment). Overall, Armitage and her aunt just felt like their motivations didn’t really make sense. Also, you don’t speak Irish…. You speak Gaelic…
