Fun and lighthearted with relatively low stakes. Loved the magic in the Victorian era premise. Scenes are well described for imagination and often very comedic. Enjoyed the central romance.

I feel like I gave the first book in this series five stars mainly because it was outrageously fun. However, I’m giving this one five stars because it was, like the first one, extremely fun AND I loved Alex and Charlotte’s relationship AND I loved the plot AND I loved every single Jane Austen reference! In other words, there was so much to love about this story, it felt so personable and I honestly just had a great time reading it :)

Not my usual genre, but I did have a silly goofy time and a lot of fun with it. I do think that the book would be better if it wasn't so drawn out at the end and if we kept the silly vibe a little stronger at the end. But yeah enjoyed it more than expected hehehe
