Can’t describe this any other way than this felt like it was written with the idea of a movie adaptation already in mind. Thus entertaining enough to speed through it, and pretending to explore deep subjects but not actually digging deeper.

Honestly, the tonal shift from I'm going to kill myself to I'm happy to be alive I'm going to be a new person in the span of like a paragraph without any sort of therapuetic intervention, just the MC being worried she was going to miss the end of a speech made me give up any sense of realism in the novel.

Something a little out of my comfort zone but I really enjoyed this. I laughed out loud multiple times and I loved the journey that Phoebe took.

Someone (sorry, I can't remember which friend!) recommended this book to me because I was looking for lighter, fun reads, which are not my normal go-to. This book was not what I expected from the title/cover/genre clues, but I really enjoyed it! Heads up that it starts out very serious, but if you trust the author and can get through the very beginning, the rest of the book has a much lighter tone.
