This book is what I expected Maas to write. There was a more shocking plot and the

slow burn romance

was perfect for my tastes. The political aspect of the book is similar to fourth wing 🙌.

Wow, such a different feel from the first book of the series! The spicy scenes got maybe a little too graphic for my taste but that's just personal preference and definitely not a knock on the rest of it. The story definitely kept me coming back for more,

although I am a sucker for a good enemies-to-lovers plot.

definitely worth the read! Could have been 5 stars but was more on the slow burning side! again great series for a fantasy starter book.
