Flax’s Pursuit is book 2 in the AURA series and picks up shortly after book one ends. While the title leads you to believe this is Flax’s story, a new character in the series, it really revolves around Quinn and Val, as well as Kai and the mysterious Tenzin, just as much.
I loved how the mystery of the culprit unfolded, and there were great action scenes fraught with danger and magic, but the real focus were the relationships between all the main characters.
I loved seeing Quinn and Val again and seeing them cement their devotion. Flax was an interesting character, though I didn’t like him much at first, he did grow on me. Ash and Sage offered a unique insight to new arrivals to this world and I liked their interactions with the previous three. Kai and Tenzin’s story was more in the background but no less heart wrenching. All had depth and individuality that created a great story.
I love this world that the authors have created and I hope for more tales set in it, whether we revisit old friends or meet new ones.

Ugh. I expected so much more. The cover is misleading. The characters were all over the place.
