Normal Women

dark funny lighthearted medium-paced

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ because I’m still but unclear of what’s real and what’s not and I don’t much enjoy feeling dumb.

A bit of a darkly whimsical narrator whose status of delusion is a bit unclear. I think that’s the point. But the ending left me confused about the authors point.
mysterious reflective medium-paced

Dani, a loving but restless stay at home mom, finds herself drawn to The Temple, a local yoga studio, and especially its owner, Renata. Developing a friendship with Renata, Dani learns The Temple is more than a yoga studio - it’s part brothel, part therapy. Just as Dani comes to believe she’s found her life’s calling, Renata disappears, and Dani digs deeper to find her friend.

Witty, quirky, and effortlessly insightful, I had high hopes for this as a big fan of Hogarth’s novel “Motherthing,” and “Normal Women” did not disappoint. It made me laugh, it touched my heart, and it made me feel seen as a stay at home mother myself.
