Ahhh what a bang this final book of the duet was by SL Scott! I love Alex and Sara Jane grew on me. So diving into this one, I was sooo excited to see what twists and turns there were. And oh man, did Scott not disappoint in this one! I think what I really loved about this second book in the duet, was that it gives you a real sense of family, love and the destruction power and money could do to someone. Not just Alex’s dad. You gotta read to find out!
There are moments in this story that will almost break you. There are moments where you will get whiplash with the epic twists that come your way. But overall, this story will sweep you off your feet with the love that Alex and Sara Jane have. Your mind will be blown, you will wonder what the heck happened but mostly you will find yourself in love with this duet. The best part is yet to come because of what will be coming next! Overall, snag this duet for a really twisted ride that will leave you going what just happened there! I highly recommend it for anyone that wants something a little crazy!

Savage got me hard, Savior just pushed me over the edge. This duet is perfection, angst passion, romance, friendship, violence, every single emotion is embedded in the book. Alex and Sara will have your heart in their hands and will twist it and make it float until the end. Couldn’t have done it better. This series are the best!

"She's the reason I breathe, the reason I wake up in the morning. She's everyday that matters in my life. I can't lose her."

The perfect and epic conclusion to one amazing story. Picking up right where Savage left off, we continue on with our emotional journey with Alex and Sara Jane. I had so many questions that I was dying to know the answers to. And I promise you, with Savior we got all those answers and then some.

S.L. Scott has really knocked it out of the park with this book/this series. Not only is the writing brilliant and intriguing, but the author made me feel emotions that I didn't even know existed and kept my heart racing the entire time. Savoir was the perfect ending to one of the best stories I've read this year. It had everything from romance to danger, to lies and betrayal to shocking twists and turns. This book will keep you on your toes and in the end, you'll be like "Bravo" "Well Done".

~~I received this in exchange for my honest opinion~~

This is a great conclusion to a duet story. The entire time I was reading this book I was hooked on every word. There were some things that I figured out but it wasn't until I was almost at that point in the book. This will definitely give you a wild ride.

Reading S.L. Scott's work it was like I was taken there and watching everything unfold right in front of me. There will be more of her work in my future.

I loved Savage, part 1 of The Kingwood Duet, so had eagerly awaited the conclusion. I did enjoy the book but for me it just didn't hit the mark in the same way that book #1 did. It is worth reading if you have started the series. It can not be read as a stand-alone book.

This felt like a box of muesli, where all the good bits had settled to the bottom of the box (or in this case were in the last third of the book). The first third seemed to be an endless round of Alex's navel gazing and moping around stuck on a loop of 'I'm so dark and bad'. Well, I hate to tell you Alex but to me you came across as one self-obsessed, immature little boy who was only playing at being 'bad'.

OK Alex/King had shot and killed O'Hare at the end of book 1, but this was a knee-jerk response to seeing Sara Jane bleeding to death in front of him. In book 1 the intrigue over his absences and his father's power plays and evil behaviour did fill the book with suspense .... and this was the darkness I felt he dragged Sara Jane into. So come on Alex - what exactly have you done to make you such a kick-ass bad boy?

Thankfully by the middle of the book, the pace had picked up a little bit - although I got annoyed that despite all that tragedy and loss of life Alex still put chasing an impossible dream ahead of those he loved. And I'm sorry but I got very tired of all the introspection - especially when it just repeated around the same few themes of 'deserving' people, of 'letting people go' and of 'destiny and fate'.

The last third of the book was where all the good bits of the muesli box had ended up - it had enough action and story for the entire book!!!!! Sadly it felt rushed, parts were glossed over and loose ends were left. Neely's involvement was so very vaguely hinted at and unexplained. The whole April storyline felt underdeveloped and the big plot twist at the end felt a little cliched and forced. It was a book full of very good ideas but one that just didn't quite merge into the tapestry of an amazing story.

Spoiler We have Alex and Cruise kidnapped and held for a couple of weeks somewhere that turns out to be connected to the parking lot below his penthouse??? He was found there because his bike was 'hidden behind a truck'! Really? I'm supposed to buy that he was just discovered that easily? Absolutely no believable explanation was given for this.

It sounds like I hated the book, but I didn't . In the end, I enjoyed most of the book once the action started and the story picked up.  I was engaged by it and wanted to reach the conclusion.

Well, I finally got my hot little hands on SAVIOR, the second book in the Kingwood Duet by author S.L. Scott, and it was everything that I was hoping. I was hanging onto the cliff that Suzie threw readers over at the end of SAVAGE (Book 1) by my fingernails, y'all, and dying to see what was next for Sara Jane and Alexander. SAVIOR started out with a bang, and, friends, there is no break in the action, the suspense, and the glorious passion of it all, from the first page to the last.

As I was reading SAVIOR, I kept thinking about what a range Suzie has with her books. The two books in the Kingwood Duet are unlike anything else of hers that I've read, and they are riveting and wonderful in their own way. There is such a depth of emotion between Alexander and Sara Jane, a bond that nothing, and I mean nothing can break. And, while that's a common theme in all of Suzie's stories, there's just something different about this series. Dark, dangerous, and filled with edge of your seat action, these books make for a story that you just can't stop reading.

I couldn't have asked for a more satisfying conclusion to the epic story that began with SAVAGE, and sped through SAVIOR to find the answers to all of the questions, the secrets that were waiting to be revealed, with barely a pause. Suffice to say that fans of romantic suspense NEED to have these books atop their TBR, because they will blow you away. There are plenty of angsty, heart-stopping reads out there, but Alexander King and his queen are in a class by themselves, so do yourself a favor and dive into them now.

"We will move forward. Grieve our losses, but move forward, stronger than ever. Because we are one."

3 stars. This was a good conclusion to this series. This one definitely didn’t take me as long to get into as the first book did, but I will say that I wasn’t as emotionally attached this time around. This was better than Savage but I was expecting just a little bit more from this. I think the ending of the first book gave me really high expectations and it just didn’t deliver for me but that was really my fault.

As for the things I enjoyed about this, there was quite a few things. The pacing in this was a million times better, the dialogue, while still cringe, wasn’t as bad this time around, the ending was really stinking cute, though convenient, and the action was really good.

The beginning of this novel picks up right where the first book leaves off and it is emotionally packed and intense. Once I gets past a certain point though I noticed I stopped caring. There was still the really cheesy dialogue between Sarah Jane and Alexander but it was a lot more tolerable here because I was used to it and that’s just how they are. Annoying and cheesy but it’s kind of charming once you get used to it.

Sarah Jane had the best development in the first book but she felt kind of stagnant here. I wanted more from her but she just didn’t have any personality outside of Alexander which was frustrating.

Alexander was handled better here and I definitely appreciated his character growth by the end. Though I will say that I hated the way he treated Shelly. He was absolutely heartless when it came to her and only could think about Sarah Jane as if Shelly wasn’t grieving and hurting as well. He got better towards the end but it was still frustrating whenever I thought about it. Both he and Sarah Jane are really meant for each other, they are incredibly selfish. Make of that whatever you want.

I do really like this author’s writing and the story for this series was really good but I’m interested to check out more of her work to see if she has characters that I will be a little bit more attached to.
