Great book. Wish the dialogue of the black characters weren't so blatantly stereotypical. It sounded like they wanted the black characters to sound like they were from the 70's and 80's. There was an overuse of slang language to sound "hip" and "relevant" and to make sure the readers knew the characters were black. As if all black people speak like that. It was off putting.

I absolutely blew through this on audio. I grabbed the book at a little free library and wow, I am glad I did. This was pretty hard to listen to, but I really loved the story and the characters. What an interesting a reflective look on the way two people’s paths can cross at the wrong time, making a small thing right.

Starts slow but moves quite fast after we get into it. Short chapters, easy read. Ending wasn’t my favorite but still a good book that I recommend for a quick read

The book was very anti-climatic. It lacked substance. I could see the potential, but the potential was not reached in its entirety.
