It’s official—I’m hooked on this series. It just keeps getting better. Valiant is less “human” than the heroes of the first two books and could be pretty aggressive at times. He was very much a scarred hero, at least psychologically, due to what he went through at the hands of Mercile. This resulted in him displaying some insecurity and defensiveness at times, but Tammy was a good match for him in terms of her patience/understanding and being able to put her foot down when she needed to.
Loved it just like the first 2:)
I love how everyone is so scared of Valiant but he is like a big teddy bear with Tammy!
The plot is gettin more intense and always keeping me intrested and wanting more!

This was a sweet book - Valiant is definitely not one of the more human New Species and his relationship with Tammy is adorable.
I was looking forward to reading this book, and this series, but I had a hard time getting into Valiant. I don’t know if it was Valiant, Tammy or them together, but I just couldn’t connect.
Other people who have read this series have compared it to Lora Leigh’s Breed series and there were definite similarities, but where other people preferred this to the Breed series I’m in the opposite camp. I’m willing to give this series another try and I have a couple of other books in the series to read, I’m just not completely sold on the series yet.
The parts of the book I liked best were the action, that was where all the story was. I found myself bored just reading the interaction between Tammy and Valiant. I had a few moments of WTMI…I’m not a squeamish person, but some of the graphic descriptions Valiant used when talking about what he would do to a guy who flirted with Tammy was a little much. And I felt like the author, through other characters (Trisha) was making excuses for why the description were so graphic. I also felt Valiant’s domineering personality was a little much…I don’t mind alpha men in books, but he was so over the top that I didn’t enjoy reading his POV.
The book wasn’t all bad, and just as I got bored something would happen in the story that would keep me reading, but it took me a long time to get though the book. As of now I’m filing this under potentially bad book in a (hopefully) good series.
I was intrigued by the New Species 927. I wouldn’t mind reading about him in the future.

Cute but still choppy
Valiant is the most animalistic of the MMCs that we’ve met in this series and swore he would never be with a human. That all changes when Tammy accidentally enters his territory. Tang was a bit obnoxious but valiant was about what I expected.
Some of the writing was choppy and the phrasing was weird. I also didn’t understand how Tammy embraced the relationship so quickly. More resistance would have helped the story out. She also didn’t have much of a growth arc. Most of the little personal growth was for valiant.
Spice: 4.5/5
Triggers: dubcon, sexual torture, kidnapping, captivity

Without a doubt, this is my favorite of the New Species series. Sure it follows the normal formula, but the characters really really work in this one. Valiant hates humans, seriously HATES them. He hates them for his past, the problems of his present, and threats to his future.
Like many of the other books, Valiant scents Tammy and suddenly knows she is the “one” for him. Sure its hokey, and sure its been done, yet it works for me in this one. Tammy was pretty indepdent and unlike many of the other heroines, she doesn't just acquiese to Valiant. Sure he's scary, sure he's strong, yet Tammy isn't nervous around him.
I know I'm not describing it the best, but the characters really make this novel. Its almost a cookie cutter of most of the other novels and has strong similarities to the Lora Leigh books, so beware. An excellent addition to the “New Species” series, I strongly recommend this one if you've read the others.

Loved how the book started! It was perfect for Valiant's story.
8/1 Update from 4 to 5 stars.
3.28.19 Still love Valiant's story so much - he's a big teddy bear!

3.75/5 Sí, puede que sea mitad hombre mitad bestia, pero sabes qué? Él es mejor que la mayoría de los hombres que autoras escriben aquí, está perdidamente enamorado y nunca NUNCA se fijaría en otra mujer.
lovvvvvvvvvvved it puuuurrrrrrrrrrrrr
5 Valiant Stars
I always forget how much I like Valiant until I re-read his book. He is just so exotic.
We all need a man who would lay down their life for you. His whole reason to live became Tammy. And no one was more surprised over that than Valiant.
He wanted a mate, but he never expected it to be a human. Tammy wasn't looking for someone but she was quite literally shocked by Valiant.
These two really do complement each other, she isn't afraid to stand up to him when he is being too much maleness. And he just wants to make her happy.
I loved this installment of the series and can’t wait to continue it.
Vanessa does a great job with each character, loveeeed this audio so much.
*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*
