Love, Rosie is absolutely adorable. I’ve been waiting ages to get my copy in the library but there’s always a million other people waiting for it. So I gave up, went on a short getaway to a neighbouring country, and bought the damn book. I flew through Love, Rosie so quickly, that I needed and wanted more. I have yet to see the movie but I worry that what I envisioned for Love, Rosie would be ruined.
Love, Rosie is told in a series of emails between Rosie and her best friend Alex. It starts from where they are merely kids and continued on as adults. Love, Rosie is your typical contemporary romance, but the email chains gives it a new twist. Its interesting, fascinating almost, kind of like you’re peeking into someone’s personal inbox. And it’s not just between Rosie and Alex — you get to see interactions between Rosie and her sisters, Alex and his brother, and so on. The story is absolutely heartbreaking, the ending sort of bittersweet.
Love, Rosie is something I would definitely recommend for those of you looking for a contemporary adult romance book that isn’t too cheesy but definitely a quick read!

The books was okay, maybe 3.5 stars. The format was fun and different since the entire book is written in letters, emails, IMs, holiday cards, etc. It was a cute enough story I just felt like it was longer than it needed to be, I also just wanted to scream at them to just tell each other how they felt, but story would haven't ended halfway through.

This book is one of the cutest books I ever read. Cecilia Ahern is good in writing cute little love stories. And this one won't dissapoint you!
The story is written in notes/letters/phonecalls/e-mails or chatsessions. And mostly go from Alex to Rosie or Rosie to Alex, although they would mail someone else during the book too.
I never read a book before with this kind of concept so this was so new to me. And I didn't really like it when I heard about it. But as soon as I start reading it; i fell in love.
In the first couple of letters they're only 8 years old or so, and they use the wrong grammar, they have cute little fights. You read along when Alex moves to the US, Rosie finishes highschool in Ireland and gets pregnant. Their first meeting, new partners etc.
I had to keep on reading, and I took all the free time I could find in this book. It reads very easily because the letters are very short, and you have to read the answer on the letter before.
You're finished before you know it.
It's an amazing book. One that I wouldn't mind to read multiple times!

I JUST FINISHED THIS BOOK AND IM ONLY GONNA SAY ONE WORD; AMAZING
Maybe I am gonna move the rating up to three stars some day but right now, it is a two star read for me. It is not necessarily a bad book but most of the time, it just annoyed me. And before anyone say anything - I know this book annoyed almost everybody but they still seemed to enjoy it as well.
I really thought I would as well and although I rushed through it, I wasnt enjoying it every second of the way. Most of the time, it was 'okay' but I was more than once furious about the choices Rosie made and asked myself, what the point of this plotline would be.
Well, there seems to be an obvious answer (the happy end) but the problem here is, that the ending didnt feel happy at all. I was just happy about the fact that the book had ended. Maybe I would have enjoyed this book a lot more had I read it at another point in my life but as this wasn't the case, I am giving it a two star rating right now.

Honestly, it’s a 4.5 stars! I loved finding out their story from messages, letters, emails etc. I read it because I fell in love with the movie and I have to say both the movie and book mirror my life in a way!

The more I think about the book, the more I dislike it. While the story was decent (though childhood second chance romances aren't my fav), the way the story was told was annoying at times. It is told exclusively through notes, letters, emails, messaging, cards, etc. There were significant jumps in time as the novel spans nearly 50 years. And the main relationship is frustrating at best - on both sides. When we finally get the ending we've been waiting 500+ pages for ... it just ends. We don't actually get to witness the relationship bloom that you've been leading up to FOR HALF A CENTURY. Ugh. I do appreciate that the main characters were wildly imperfect if that counts for anything and the bestie truly felt like a real life bestie.
A drag…only being written as emails and texts was tough. Film is better.
