I thoroughly enjoyed the dialogue in this book, I laughed out loud several times.  I couldn’t follow the story or characters at all.  I tried reading the physical book, listening to audio, and also simultaneously listening to audio and reading.  I just couldn’t understand what was happening beyond chapter 10.  But that said, I think this is a great book but that I am not smart enough or I am too ADHD to follow it completely.  I can tell it’s a good book but maybe it’s just beyond me.

A funny and lighthearted fictional account of the life of Lambert Simnel. As there is not that much on his early life, it’s hard to write a factual biography so a fictional account is a lot of fun!! Lambert becomes an endearing character who you root for on his journey of discovering his own identity and his place in Tudor England.

This was insane! Inthe best possible way! The Pretender is a so smart, thought-provoking exploration of identity, memory, and morality. Set in a world where memories can be rewritten, the story follows a “replacement” who assumes others’ lives. But truly never knows his own..

This was full circle of psychological intrigue with emotional depth, raising questions about authenticity and selfhood which are very relatable (especially when you aren’t sure where you fit in).

The writing is sharp and the pacing keeps you hooked. A gripping, unsettling read that lingers long after the final page. Highly recommended for speculative fiction fans. This was such a good one! 4 stars
