Appreciate the data-driven approach to assessing how time is spent, and the recognition that how we feel about our time (stressed, like there's never enough of it) doesn't always line up with reality. Lots of useful advice and perspective here.

(aside: whenever I read these kinds of books/articles on how to balance career and family, and what successful moms do to keep on top of everything, I feel the same way I do when I hear someone who's just done a triathlon describe all the training they did to get through it- like, ugh that sounds exhausting, you are really not selling this experience very well! maybe I can just live with not doing that!)

Got some things out of this that were really helpful - spent a week tracking my time which helped me focus on being efficient with both work and leisure. No revolutionary ideas but a good reminder to look factually at whether we are overwhelmed, sleep deprived, too busy and not just get into the trap of thinking that way.

This book was interesting to read. At times it simplifies how complex life can be, and that is the only thing I do not really like. While I agree that we can change our mindset about how hardships impact us, it is also true that there is more to planning for a successful life than thinking of puzzle pieces and putting them all together. It would work great for robots. Not so much humans.

The advice was a good reminder of things we can all do, but there was nothing groundbreaking in it. And, this is definitely more focused on the middle class and up with white-collar jobs.

This made me feel so much better about everything. I feel like after reading this book I suddenly realized I had time. Sometimes it really, legitimately doesn't feel like it. I'm a graduate student doing research and teaching. Remembering and reading this book and seeing how people make the most of their time was wonderful.

And the fact that Vanderkam surveyed women in high-powered jobs with children gave me so many ideas and really made me optimistic for the future in a way I don't often feel. I highly recommend this book to anyone.

Awesome look at how we can get enough sleep, take time for work and hobbies and stop feeling guilty. Let it go and find what works for you-no guilt. You are spending enough time for self and for family!

Enjoyable and much better than Lean In but I think her latest book, Tranquility by Tuesday succinctly puts together all these ideas in a better work flow
