This book is a deeply moving, brave achievement by Jennette McCurdy, whilst still being humorous as she deals with her years of trauma in this unique and compelling way. The narration, sometimes childlike, other times, disturbing in regards to rationalising many troubling issues, offers a touching glimpse into the writer's mind as she struggles to navigate fame, relationships, and her own mental and physical health under the misguided treatment of her mother, leading up to, and due to her detrimental impact, still after her death. I finished this book in less than a day, it's been my hyperfixation for a while, so I was excited to finally take a deep dive into such an interesting person's life!
In regards to the educational value, I understand a person's love life is a core subject in such a tell-all memoir, but on top of most of the book's topics being quite triggering, I could have done without the sexual descriptions, especially as most were uncomfortable experiences for her.

It’s a fascinating and well written memoir about her time as a child star. It’s very clear Jennette is a passionate and excellent writer.

Just wow. I couldn't stop reading. Growing up watching icarly, getting older and recognising the issues with Nickelodeon and child acting. This book puts it all into perspective in a way that is impactful.

Jennette tells a story from childhood to dealing with a troubled foundation as an adult. Her writing is captivating and it is clear that this book was a passion project
