All the reviews on the back seem to describe it as "funny", but I'm not sure that's quite the right word?
Jennette writes in a sort of deadpan, matter-of-fact way, so I could see how one could interpret her presentation of the absurd behaviour she has had to endure in her life as humourous, if only it weren't so absolutely heartbreaking. I really don't think "funny" is the right word for the depictions of toxic relationships in this book. I suppose one could argue the surreal humour angle.
