A short sweet lighthearted yet emotional romcom <3 Radha and Jai were so cute. I loved everything from the dance to the food, the the very real familial issues and deeper topics. Everything was great. As someone of south asian descent, I loved how steeped in culture this book is.  Also I was so hungry while reading this because of all of the recipes lol.

This book started off a bit slow but quickly grew into something fantastic. I learned so much about a part of the dance world and more about the realities of caretaking and stroke survivors. The author’s use of text messages in this book was very unique and one of the few books I’ve read that demonstrate how they work in real life instead of just to add emojis to the book!
The use of recipes was also a big highlight for me. The characters  acting their age really sealed the deal for me! Loved!

A cute, fun story. Would make a great movie in the vein of Step Up or Save the Last Dance but with a Bollywood flair.
I was a little put off by how abusive Radha's mum is and how little that abuse is dealt with. It seems to be treated as secondary to her father's absences in Radha's life. Radha gets counselling from therapists, but none of them appear to delve into her relationship with her mother which seems like a missed opportunity.
The book is cute, but not as moving as it should be.

This book was cute! I liked that Radha and Jai’s relationship developed earlier in the relationship whilst other drama drove the plot.

I think both of the Nisha Sharma books I’ve read so far, have a lot of parent child conflicts and I was less tolerant towards the familial conflict in this book. Especially because I think Radha’s mom crosses a lot of lines and doesn’t apologize for it at all, which was unsatisfying.

I think I need to take a break from YA because I just didn’t vibe with the book, although I thought it was objectively a good YA book.

This was such a cute and sweet little romance! I say it like that because it’s young people but they hit some hard hitting points. Also I LOVED all the recipes and repairing the relationship with the dad.

This is truly a fluffy book, but from one kathak dancer to another, this was pretty sweet.
