Time travel books aren’t really my jam but this was a good spin on it, even if it made my head hurt sometimes

This was really good and fun to listen to! But I do think I would have enjoyed it more if I read it physically. The 100s of timelines were hard to keep up with while listening to an audiobook.

WOW! Let me start by saying that sci-fi isn't a genre that I dabble in often. [a:Blake Crouch|442240|Blake Crouch|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1479398727p2/442240.jpg] 's storytelling is SO captivating. I was sucked in almost immediately. The execution of this book... chef's kiss. It's the kind of book that will stick with me forever. I honestly cannot understand how an author can take a concept that is so complex, add in dual POV, multiple timelines, all of the in-depth science, and still make it easy to follow along. Well done.
If you want a deep dive, crazy ride, thought-provoking story, this one is for you!

Blake Crouch is amazing. So much depth and thought go into his books, and always has me wondering about scientific phenomena during and afterwards. While Dark Matter focuses on different worlds, this focuses on the idea of memory timelines. I am blown away. I can't wait for this book to become a vague memory just so I can read it again.

This book is told from two POVs- Helena, who creates a memory chair, and Barry, a NYC policeman. Helena’s memory chair was created to help Alzheimer’s patient to potentially recover memories. However, her greedy investor has other plans and uses it as a time-traveling device. The problem is that you have to stop someone’s heart for them to go back in time. Helena becomes frustrated and looks for a way out. It’s a bit of good vs. evil, with a bit of romance and lot of time travel. At times, it seemed a bit like Groundhog Day trying to travel to the right moment in time. However, overall I enjoyed the story, but not as much as Dark Matter though.
