Enjoyable read

Kept me engaged and wanting to find out more. I couldn’t put the book down. I closed my eyes as I listened and could see the characters.

DNF. I was really excited to read this book. I loved the political/cultural drama but the constant back and forth of a romance that didn’t draw me in ruined it for me. I don’t think it’s a bad book just SO NOT my cup of tea.

This book has it all! It has a little romance, love, heartbreak, mystery and so much more. You will also find a LOT of twists and turns to the story that, for me, got a little confusing and distracting.

I did enjoy the setting of Shanghai, Japan during WWII, a location that I have not visited before.
