Really enjoyed this! such an easy read to fly through and the element of racing was so fun. My first book in awhile and definitely recommend it as a fun quick read.

3.5 rating. Not quite four stars.
Enjoyed the race car driver aspect, but something was missing.

The narrator's voices were annoying with their exaggerated southern accents. Irritating.

Seriously, if a character says they can't breed can we keep it that way. I hate these surprise, miracle knockups.

You know how they say it's so bad its good? Well this is so squicky, gross and just...stereotypically bad..that yeah, it manages to rise to greatness. Sadly, not enough to get more than three stars.

But seriously objectively it should be a two-star book.

I have read and loved quite a few of these Misadventures books and this book was no exception! I was in love with this book, so much so, I read it within hours because I was so enamored with Brooks and Faith's story. Brooks is a sexy, gorgeous race car driver hired to join Ridley Racing which is Faith's family team. Faith is a beautiful, fiesty woman who definitely catches the eye of Brooks Carter. What happens when two people who shouldn't be involved just can't keep their hands off each other? I guess you'll have to read and find out!

Brooks was brought up not knowing about love his mother loved the bottle more and didn’t care about him. Brooks had one goal, to get out of the town and become a racer.
Faith has worked to get where she was on Ridley Racing, while her brother asked and become one of the hottest racers on the track. When their father decides to brig Brooks Carter to the team, her brother isn’t happy.
The pictures that Faith saw of Brooks didn’t do him justice at all, with his piercing blue eyes, she pulls herself together, until she her father lets her know to show him the ropes, and the comments he makes throw her and she knows she’s in trouble.
They both quickly become addicted to each other, denying what they have is real at each turn. Faith worries when her mother wants to talk to her, but it wasn’t what she was expecting, is her mother telling her not to string him along, giving her some advice.
‘Men like them love fierce and hard, just like they drive’
When her mother hints that she’s in love with Brooks, Faith denies it, it’s only been forty-eight hours she can’t be, he’s an employee, her brother hates him.
Before his race, talking to Mr Ridley, he realises how lucky he is and how he finally feels part of something he came from nowhere, and has the chance to make something of himself, and he wants Faith.
After the family dinner, Brooks sees what they have, and he wants a family, he wants Faith, Faith continues to deny what they have jumping to conclusions with things that she sees. Can they get past everything in their way to get the happily ever after they deserve.

[ I received a digital ARC for an honest review]

This was such a quick fast paced steamy romance. I have read a few of the standalone books in the misadventures series and this has become one of my top favorites!

Brooks Carter is a race car driver who has worked hard to be where he is today. Nothing was handed to him, he had no family rooting him on, and now that he has a chance to make it big time he's not going to screw it up. When he joins the Ridley Racing team his dreams seem to be coming true, but he didn't anticipate meeting someone like Faith. Their chemistry is instant and quickly becomes more than just physical attraction. Brooks and Faith literally can't keep their hands off each other. The sex scenes are insanely hot and intense. There's a dressing room scene that will leave you all hot and bothered. The characters vulnerability and openness with one another also seems believable.

Chelle Bliss did a great job with these characters and the story line. It was fast paced but didn't feel rushed. I recommend Misadventures with a speed demon if you are looking for a quick steamy adult romance.

"No one has ever rendered me stupid with a simple smile, but somehow Brooks Carter has that effect on me."

"Everything about the woman drives me wild and has the blood coursing through my veins faster than I can drive around any track, even at breakneck speed."

A fast and explosively hot, wild ride - and I'm not even referring to the car races! Brooks Carter has had a rough upbringing, but his whole life has revolved around racing. When he's brought into the Ridley family as their new driver, sparks fly with the owners daughter, Faith Ridley. This was a steamy, entertaining ride and I'll definitely be revisiting again in the future!

Rating: 4.5 Stars

Faith Ridley belongs to a family that lives and breathes the need for speed. Brooks Carter also lives for speed. When these two first meet you can feel the sparks. If you’re one that likes/loves to watch auto racing, whether in person or on TV, this will feed into your need for speed.

Even though I like to read a book at a leisurely pace, this story had its own ideas. I grew up watching all the NASCAR races – it was a family thing. We used to have a local track and when my parents were dating that was one of their things. This brings a little extra to my reading experience. I get to be a spectator in more ways than one.

Our author makes my love of reading very easy. She has created a book that would fit very easily into the auto world. I could picture a Ridley dynasty fitting right along with the Force family – even though they are NHRA. I don’t think I would go to a racetrack in order to set the mood because the noise would be too much – although it would give you some idea of what these characters do. You could turn on a race as you read – over the years this became a father/daughter thing so I’ve recently stopped watching. But that doesn’t mean that I can’t picture what these characters experience. It was interesting to watch all the twists and turns that lead to my happy ending.

If you’re like me and haven’t read a Misadventures book before, this is the perfect introduction. And knowing their standalones means I can read them in any order. Now my problem becomes which one to read next. I have read several of this authors work before and I can’t wait to read more. But in the meantime I can enjoy this one and see myself reading this book again either in February or maybe in November – based on the NASCAR schedule.

I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own
