Anne and I are, indeed, kindred spirits.
So glad I (finally) got around to this one- it brought me so much joy, and I can't wait to re-read.

A reread that I think everyone should visit at some point in their childhood and subsequent adulthood. As a child this book was fun, adventurous, and morally upright, as an adult this book is reflective and inspiring - it’s “poetical.” Anne is everything I hope to be in life. This book is also beautifully written and captivating. Despite being realistic fiction, it reminds you of childhood fantasies and imagination. The descriptive writing about nature is absolutely lovely. Just such a wonderful book.

I absolutely loved this book. I had tears in my eyes the last 30 pages and didn't want the story to end. Anne Shirley is one of the most honest characters ever written. She's curious, smart, hopeful, romantic. She's marvelous.
