Just an odd one, not quite sure how I came across it. My first of this author’s books. Seems like I likely missed many references. Almost in the style of Pinocchio or Through the looking Glasss? A but surreal, meeting of different characters, and the real told as story (many times by storytellers) along with dreams.

I wish there were more interactions with and more information about the unicorn woman and less directionless chats with townspeople. Feel like I missed something??

Subjectively didn’t work for me & was hurt by the comparison to James.

Can’t listen to a male narrator right now. Sounds sorta interesting if I wanna listen to another book about the postwar south.

I wanted to love this book. Had the ending been better I would have liked it more.
