This is one of those series my Dad and I picked up and read together (as in, one of us reads the book then passes it to the other, not aloud). And we couldn't figure out why, after the second book, there wasn't another one coming out. It was only with this book that I found out Robert Asprin had passed away.
This book, while slower paced than the first two, really continues the series well. It looks more at Griffen's gambling operation and, for the first time in the series, goes into Mardi Gras. I was hoping the George would make another appearance but alas, it was not to be.

An enjoyable read but didn't really stand out. I enjoyed seeing the way the interactions with the Eastern Dragons played out and getting an "inside" look at Mardi Gras. But not as good a read as the first two in the series. I probably won't be buying the forth.
