THIS BOOK WAS PERFECT. omg y’all have no idea how much i love this book ahh. i kept reading the parts of the book to my sister and fangirling and she hates it when i talk about books… not that i care cuz i still read to her :) ROWAN KANE… mister… i love you. so. so. so. much. his relationship with Ani (Zahra’s sister) was the most perfect thing ever. there isn’t a single thing i don’t like about the book and i can’t wait to read rest of the series. especially alana and cal. i’m sensing enemies to lovers and a second chance romance there.

overall Zahra and Rowan own my heart

I really enjoyed the banter in the book. As a writer myself, I often find myself struggling to come up with these imaginary conversations that build the tension and make good jokes. Some parts seemed repetitive, and I wish it was more of a slow burn than an insta-lust.

zahra is too damn peppy but i do love me some rowan

DNF.

i forced myself to finish reading this book. i wanted to peel my eyes after reading this. on page 12, (12!!!!!!!) it mentioned his hard cock. there was so many cringe moments in this book. i cannot begin to count how many times i had to physically pause, look up at the roof and just roll my eyes. i could have written a better book at age 14. both point of views was not needed. this book would have been 10 times better if it was just told from Zahra’s point of view. Rowans point of view was so cringey and its so clear that a man would not think the way he did. i hated how dramatic normal every day things were portrayed. it’s safe to say i do not like Lauren Asher’s books. they are so simply written. there’s no intelligence within her writing. the only good part of this book was the ending when something actually happens and he breaks up with her. it triggered a sore point in my real life which gave me something to relate to. i shead a tear for that part of the book but the rest was a bore and disappointment. never ever again will i pick up a Lauren Asher book.
