You might think not much happens in this book but then again, don't most days seem like this as well? Needless to say, the time period made this book so much more enjoyable for me, I have an endless fascination with the 1930s. One thing is for sure, this book made me fall in love with Towles' writing and I cannot wait to read all of his novels!

2.6 rounded up - it was beautifully written and there’s nothing more glamorous than 1930s nyc, but I had such a hard time following the middle 80% of the book. Read too clearly like a female narrator written by a man- she was wild yet reserved, working class yet acceptable in upper circles, a social butterfly yet eve’s sidekick? She felt like a very contradictory gal. Sorry- I also hated the name Katey Kontent hahahah. Wannabe Fitzgerald vibes all over the place, but nonetheless enjoyed the atmosphere. Pretty average plot. Is that all mean? I didn’t hate it I promise
