Amor Towles

The last ~150 pages made the first 150 pages worth it. Towles, you’ve done it again. My heart? Aching. My soul? Empty. Me? Depression.

It’s over. Took me ages, but it’s over.

I don't get the praise of this book. It just wasn't interesting to me. It was boring.

Just aight

Based on the beginning, I really wanted to like this book. Unfortunately, the majority of the book didn't live up to the promising beginning.

I think this is a 5 star book that I read at the wrong time. Putting it on my re-read list for sure.

This quote broke me:

“In that sense, life is less like a journey than it is a game of honeymoon bridge. In our twenties, when there is still so much time ahead of us, time that seems ample for a hundred indecisions, for a hundred visions and revisions— we draw a card, and we must decide right then and there whether to keep that card and discard the next, or discard the first card and keep the second. And before we know it, the deck has been played out and the decisions we have just made will shape our lives for decades to come.”
