I loved reading this book. I wouldn't even say the plot line was incredible, but the way it was written and the theme behind it is beautiful.

A very unexpected story, wasn’t at all what I thought it would be or go where I thought it would. I enjoyed it greatly.

I’m unclear how Towles makes day to day life so interesting but he does. It feels like nothing and everything happens and I find myself zipping through his books. I liked Moscow more than this one but this was still a very good read.

“And at the same time, I know that right choices by definition are the means by which life crystallizes loss.” Just one example of the wonderful writing in this book. It's been a long time since I read something this well written and enjoyable. I didn't want it to end. An almost perfect novel.

Read this darling, it’ll be a gas! No plot, but the vibes are exquisite.

After seeing Amor Towles in person and having read his other books, I thought I should read this first novel as well. I'm glad I did. I like this book more than any of the others! What a wonderful writer. His prose really shines in this novel and the story was engrossing, too. It was hard to stop listening.
