I've had this book on my tbr pile for a couple of months. I was lucky enough to get the sequel from Netgalley, which gave me the push to read this one asap. I'm so glad I did!

What an enjoyable read. Can't wait to dive into The Fire Queen.

This book made me feel things that I have not felt in along time. Some of the things it made me feel, powerful, broken, pissed off, love, passion, and wooo you go girl show those bitches who you are.

Really good

Trying to find a book series to read after reading ACOTAR and I stumbled across this series. Very glad I found it. Can’t wait to read more about Kali.

A fun quasi historical fantasy (it's not truly based on any pre-existing culture, but has both Sumerian and Sanskrit/Indian influences. It was just fun. I'm not sure that it made me think any further than the end of the book, but I'll probably read the next.

Kalinda has got to be one of my most favorite characters of all times. Yes she lacks courage and confidence, but with how she was brought up, I understand it. She was so selfless and humble through the whole book. She'd make a great leader because she has the right ideas and values in mind. I adore her. I can't wait to read the rest of this series! Fully recommend!

This was a decent read. There was a lot going on, and I was bored at points, but it was a good story. Kali grows a lot in this first novel alone, and I look forward to reading the next ones in the series. Good find 🤗
