I love this book.
Its like Erika is taking you to whole another world. The most awesome thing in this book was time travel...may be we get to know the details in next book that it was in the past or future. I love Lily's character so much, she is like something else something I can't define. A lot of question are raised by who is Kelsea's father. what is the relation between Rowland and the Fetch. and who is the red haired girl Fetch was asking about. And the biggest mystery solved in it is we get to know the Red queen. Who she really is.
Just that I am desperately waiting for the next installment and also when will it made into the movie.

I liked this better than the first one, but it still suffers from a lot of superfluous mysteries that don't come into play in this book.

3.5/5 - Significant improvement over the first book, mostly due to no instances of child rape (though there is sexual, physical, and emotional abuse) but still not enough to warrant 4 stars. Meandering plot wherein very little happens and the "reveals" are dulled by lack of clarity within the overall story.

Very disappointed in this 2nd book. There was just too much going on. I didn't care for Lily's story or all the issues that the author was trying to tackle, just too much for one story. Any one of these would have been great on its own, but all of them together made me just not care very much.

I wish I liked this book better - the first one was SO good! But flashing back and forth between Kelsea's current time and pre-Crossing time was confusing and didn't make any sense until the very end. The only character that I felt invested in was Father Tyler. If I wasn't a completionist, I'd stop reading this series now.

I love Kelsea's development as queen as she deals with not letting her power go to her head. I wish Johansen would give more background on her previous installment. If you haven't picked up the series in a while, a refresher would be really helpful, but she jumps right in. I wish we got to see more of the Fetch, but this book really focuses on Kelsea struggling between being a queen and also wanting to live some of her life as a 19-year-old.
