If you liked the netflix rom-com “Set It Up” or “The Parent Trap” and have a thing for sweet, sexy men with dad-bods, this book is for you.

Ari’s character didn’t always feel consistent and some of the set-up scenarios felt a bit too forced. However, the book did some important mental illness representation (Ari has depression) and used therapy as a productive tool for character growth and development.

Adorable, important, and surprisingly steamy. I didn’t know I needed a romance novel featuring a heroine with depression until I read this book.

A totally standard, fine romance. It was enjoyable to listen to but it also took me 5 minutes to catch when the audiobook skipped forward 4 hours, if that gives an indication of engagement. Was what I was looking for in the moment but didn’t blow me away. Also, the author really seemed to think she was doing something against fatphobia, but it was mostly just cringy?

This was a really sweet story but it didn’t really hold my attention. I loved the mental health rep, I loved that Russ wasn’t this ripped, muscular giant that like every other MMC and I loved how real the spice was but I just couldn’t get past the Parent Trapping yours bosses thing. I will never relate to someone who wants their boss to pay more attention to them lol so it just took me out of the story but it was still a cute read
