This is book 1 of the 'Legacy of Gods' series and made me feel all kinds of confused. The book starts off strong, with chapter 1 already dealing with death, thoughts of suicide, SA and stalker behaviour. Not to mention, the main characters who end up dating/married, started their relationship with SA, rape and stalking ...

The MMC is Killian Carson. He is a 4th year student, has a god complex, is obsessive, a psychopath and fantasizes about death. Rina Kent did warn us in the beginning foi teh book that he is a villain and a predator wrapped in sophisticated charm - and she was not kidding. He is a red walking flag. Did I hate him for majority of the book? Yes. Did I start liking him towards the end? Also yes.

Killian's cons:
- He said 'Besides, sometimes no means yes.". EXCUSE ME? WHAT TYPE OF BEHAVIOUR IS THAT? - He took Glyndon virginity and loved her blood around his dick.
- He also posted a spicy picture of them on his socials with the caption "OFF LIMITS", and no he did not have Glyndon's consent.

Killian's pros:
- He quit smoking cold turkey because Glyndon asked him once.
- Was the first and last girl he took to meet his parents.
- He is the villain, so he would burn the world down (including himself) to keep her safe and happy. "I’ll set the whole fucking world on fire to make sure she remains safe."
- He started weighing his options and actions to ensure that they are in line with how Glyndon views the world and how what he does will affect how Glyndon sees him.
- He is not intimidated by Glyndon's family, in fact he tell them "You’ll never be able to take her away from me. You can break my legs and arms, but I can still crawl toward her.”

The FMC is Glyndon King. She is a virgin, an artist with an inferiority complex (imposter syndrome) and has a foul mouth. She slowly finds her confidence while playing game with Killian and has a massive character development. He brothers, Brandon and Landon, are highly possessive and protective and also majorly fun to read about. It is very entertaining to read about how Brandon clashes with Killian and how in the end, they decide to work together because someone hurt Glyndon (they finally found common ground!). She finally realises that she cannot change Killian and accepts him for who he is, the good and the bad: "when I fell for him, I had to take the whole package. The good, the ugly, and the fucked-up."

There is a small plot twist (* SPOILER ALERT *) -> Devlin did not actually commit suicide and die, but manipulated everyone around him, in order to fulfil his own agenda. Him faking his death was all part of his plan, which btw backfired.

I found the first 30% of the book really hard to read and even harder to connect with the characters. I found that we were introduced to too many characters in a short period, making impossible to remember who is who. Also, I found that for 50% of the book, the story focused on anything BUT Glyndon and Killian's relationship, and we were given so many details and information about unnecessary things.

Favourite quotes:
- “I love you enough to let you within my walls. I love you enough to let you talk to my demons. I love you enough to allow you to have a hold over me when I’ve never allowed anyone to have the power to destroy me from the inside out.”
- “I want to shoot everyone who dares to look in your direction or cause you pain. I want to bathe in their fucking blood and throw their insides at your feet. I want to fuck you there, too, in their blood, to stake a claim. You’d probably bolt if I said this to you directly, so I won’t. I’ll just keep owning you over and over, until you can no longer think about leaving me. I’ll be your shadow so no one dares to hurt you.”
- “I’ll make sure you always choose me as much as I choose you.”
- “Understand this, Glyndon, there’s nothing noble or tender about what I feel for you. It’s a violent volcano of obsession, possession, and deranged lust. If you want love, then I do love you, but it’s the unorthodox version of love. I love you enough to let you within my walls. I love you enough to let you talk to my demons. I love you enough to allow you to have a hold over me when I’ve never allowed anyone to have the power to destroy me from the inside out.”
- “Are you sure you won’t get bored of me, after all?” I poke. “Oh, baby. Not even after death.”
- “You’re going to be my wife.” Thrust. “My partner.” Thrust. “My everything.”
