How does it gets better? The only bit that was meh is Atlas, he felt a bit underwhelming.

Percy's adventures continue in similar fashion, with his trademark smartass comments, which is what makes this as epic as Harry Potter, but less serious, which I appreciate. I'm in a mania now to find book four. I might -actually- buy it! (In all seriousness, I plan on buying the whole set.) Also, this is my favorite kind of book; I feel like I am learning more about mythology than I already knew, which is awesome. Prior to this, I didn't know what the titan's curse was, and now I do.

I feel a bit mixed about this book in particular.

I like the plot a lot. It might be my favorite out of the whole series. The story of Atlas and bearing the weight of the world on your shoulders (literally) is interesting to me. The journey that they go on out west is constantly pushing forward; there's never a dull moment. That's a big part of this series in general. It has a fast-paced plot but that never takes away from the characters.

This one has great character building. Percy and Annabeth’s relationship grew a lot, as did every other character dynamic in this series. We met a few new characters, all of whom were unique. I personally liked Thalia and Zoe a lot. Thalia and Percy's relationship was also really cute. The one thing that makes me dislike this book is what happens to these new characters.
SpoilerThalia joined the Hunters, Zoe and Bianca die, and Nico leaves camp
While I understand some of the choices Riordan made with them, some events felt unnecessary, especially since I grew to like these characters a lot.

The Titan's Curse feels more mature than the previous books. I continue to enjoy Percy's dialogue and his blunt honesty. I think many people (including me) can relate to how he feels at certain points in this book, minus the mythological aspects of course.

I think this might be my favorite in the series, but I'll have to finish the rest of it to be sure of that.

I read it in one night. Does that say something about if i liked it?

I have been re-reading this dam book almost every year since I first read it 17 years ago (at age 9), and I don’t think I will ever be able to get through it without crying. The Titan’s Curse marks the series’ turn into darker and more serious themes, but it never loses the joy and hilarity that is central to PJO (who knew the word “dam” was so versatile!). It also features the intros some of my favorite characters in the entire series (Zoë [🥹], Nico, & Bianca especially).

I think that Bianca and Zoë’s deaths are probably the most devastating character deaths I’ve ever had the displeasure of reading. “I can see the stars again M’Lady” OWWWWWW! But these deaths are so necessary to moving the story further into more adult themes. As we get closer to the events of The Last Olympian, these moments are needed for the characters and for the readers, no matter how painful.

I did just re-read this quickly because the television series has just started filming the adaptation of this book, and I cannot wait to see this all on screen. I will indeed be crying!! Someone pls bring me some dam tissues.
