I have no idea why I didn't write a review for LotR. I had written it in my diary but forgot (?) to put it here. How stupid.
Anyway.....to the review...
What on (Middle) Earth was I thinking, not reading LotR for so long?
"One Ring To Rule Them All!
So Sauron made this Ring for ruling and now he has lost it. He needs to get it back so he just looks around (he has better eyesight than a mom who can see her toddler doing mischief from the back of her head, FYI). So, Frodo is "The Chosen One" entrusted with destroying the Ring but he decides to put it on Sauron instead (Twoo Wuv, JK).
Thus begins an epic journey that collects epic people (Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir(?)) and creatures (Gollum) along the way. And then there are the Nazgul.
There is hardly anything new I can tell about this book. It is revered by its fans and now I am starting to understand the hype. It is nothing short of an epic saga. And of such imagination!
So, I will do this instead:
Most favourite character: ARAGORNNNNNN!!!! And SAMWISEEEEEEE!!! And GANDALFFFFF!!! And GOLLUMMMMM!!! And MERRY and PIPPIN!!! And LEGOLASSSSS!!! And GIMLI!!!! (Okay, throw everyone inexcept Frodo)
Least favourite character: Sauron, closely followed by Saruman
Most favorite dialogue: "My Precioussss"
Character I already loved: Aragorn
Character I rooted for: Sam and Gollum
Character who might have terrified Ron: Shelob
Character who would give Dumbledore a run for his money: Gandalf and Saruman both
Character from whom Voldemort could take some lessons: Sauron and the Nazgul (they are terrible)
Well, that's all folks. Off to add other Tolkien books to the TBR.
And yes, the movies are excellent and as good as the books!

Är ett stort fan av Sagan om ringen och även om boken är väldigt språkligt intressant och bra, så blir den tyvärr för detaljerad stundtals. Det tog för lång tid mellan att det hände lite saker och det blev väldigt segt emellanåt. Annars bra. Ser fram emot de andra delarna.

I finally finished reading Lord of the Rings. I don't think I could have read the books without first watching the movies, which explains why I never finished reading this in high school. The internet was necessary to understand the conversations in the book, not to mention an annotated map I found online. How did anyone read this book before Tolkein published the appendices and without the Similarion?
Най-накрая приключих с тази велика Мъка на мъките. Това нещо няма изчитане. Искам да кажа, че по никакъв начин не омаловажавам труда на Толкин да създаде целия този свят с цялата му история, народи, войни, езици... Това не е книга, това е едно друго измерение.
Но! Такава скука не съм изживявала никога, честно. Като си помисля, че си казвах това за "Щиглецът", "Отнесени от вихъра" и "Z-та световна война"... Ми те направо са си били интересни пред това. Не знам колко хиляди пъти заспах. Просто не е моята книга. В никакъв случай не отричам, че е шедьовър. Шедьовър, ама не моят. Отказвам се тотално от този жанр. Роулинг ме подведе, нея я харесвам от тук до безкрая. Ама другите й съ-жанр-овци не мога да ги понасям. Не е за мен и това е. Нарочно няма да поставя оценка, защото на първо място 80% от текста не го разбрах въобще и на второ място не мисля, че е уместно, тъй като не ми допада жанра, нито пък стила на автора и това ужаааааааааасно разтеглено и детайлно писане. Честно, пиша си 6 за търпение. Не знам как успях да изчета всичко. Е, в приложенията вече на някои места давах по диагонал, че ми писна.
