Okay, tbh, I didn't finish, I've decided, after much thought, that I should give up on this book (volume). Don't get me wrong, the series is great, but it's such a drag at points and it was a great accomplishment finishing The Fellowship of The Ring, and as mush as I hate giving up, especially on books, I have decided that I'm going to do it.

Lord of the Rings is a classic for the Fantasy genre and I believe everyone should give it a chance.
That being said, it is one of those stories that is rather hard to get into. It's rather slow and doesn't open the world to you for many hours of reading. It is a story about the world and what the Ring has done to it and the people. Less so of the traveling party with the Ring. They are important in their own right but not the main focus.
If you are not connected to worldbuilding and the world of the Ring, you may find that it is hard to focus and engross yourself into Tolkien's beloved world.
Tolkien tells you everything he can about his world because he does love it. I found myself often daydreaming because he inspired me so much for my own world.
There is so many amazing things about this world and story, making it a reason I would tell everyone to at least try to read it. However, don't feel bad if it's not one for you! It's a heavy story with very intrinsic details to add to the world, rather than the main story of destroying the Ring. It is a story that will be unforgettable because it is one of its kind.
