The best fantasy series ever published. This set the bar high for all fantasy books. This needs to be on everybody's reading list.

The imagination and storytelling is brilliant. The details of the story and the level of depth... incredible.

That being said, I like the book but I love the movie. Maybe I was exposed too much to the pop culture, maybe because I watched the movie first before I read the book. It was not a popular classic in where I grew up. In fact, I actually never heard of Tolkien before the movie :-/.
