Being part of a mystical poetry group has introduced me to works I wouldn’t discover otherwise. This one is interesting and certainly challenging. The original engraved works are incredible, mezzotints I believe. Reflective and thought provoking, I will be listening to the bbc readings to deepen my understanding.

"For everything that lives is holy."

I love heretics!

My favorite work of poetry. Period.

I have no idea what I just read, but it was a vibe.

Blake was a genius.

Last year I studied his paintings and loved his unique style. Now I've read this and saw that same twisted, ironic and powerful style.

We have to remember Blake published this in England, just a year after the French Revolution and 'The Marriage of Heaven and Hell' is where his anti-empire and 'liberal' beliefs were beautifully written down. I particularly like how he criticises religion but is not against it altogether. It's really simple, in a way - there is no good and there is no evil. What we have is a marriage of both, and from this we will attain true knowledge.

Also, he was so damn quotable! It's insane.

I definitely want to read more stuff from him.
