An easy read, this will capture many of my 7th graders' attention. I plugged along in it, and did like the ultimate lesson at the end. Linden is not too complex, and I almost wish it had been told from her friend Nikki's point of view.

This was a quick read but difficult with Linden having such low self esteem yet holding her friend Nikki to such high standards. I found it difficult to like Linden and it's hard for me to enjoy books when I find the main character so atrocious.

A fairly run of the mill YA romance enlivened by an of-the-moment plot line about social media. See my full review here.

this is quite a different book from what i usually read however it was just as interesting as my usual reads. i really enjoyed this book . i liked our main character and the character development throughout the book. the concept was original and fresh and i loved trying to figure out who was behind the app. i enjoyed all parts of the book and would recommend it to anyone who likes these types of books.
i would recommend this book to people aged 12+
if you enjoyed this book you should read :
-not if i save you first by ally carter
-in some other life by jessica brody

It's definitely your typical YA Scholastic book. Well written, predictable characters and plot, and in the end a lesson with a worthy message. I didn't hate, didn't love it. It will be added to our school My Little Library though, I think my middle schoolers will like it.

This book was enjoyable to read, and I was lucky enough to get a ARC of it. Linden, the main character, reminded me of a younger version of myself. She's witty, interesting, perceptive, shy at times, and independent. I love how she grows throughout the course of the novel. The storyline was predictable, and the pacing of Linden and Alex's relationship seemed rather fast, even for teenagers. However, I think the book made important points about internet culture, online apps, communication, and the dating world. The big social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) did not exist when I was in high school, so it was interesting for me to see how they affect teenagers and youth culture. Overall, I think the book is age appropriate and a worthwhile read for adolescents. The narrator's voice was particularly strong. I really want to read Skinny, a novel by the same author, as I've heard that is her best work so far in terms of teen literature.
