Not as meaty as Emmons though thankfully without the hokey religious references.
I was skeptical about reading a book about gratitude from a woman who seems like she has it all, but after reading it I felt judgemental for going in thinking that Janice Kaplan had nothing to offer me. As it turns out, we all have our moments and we can all improve by practicing gratitude. Since reading the book I have brought daily gratitude into my life and I can feel a small positive impact already. Yeah, it's all in my head, but where else would I want it to be?
Truly enjoyed this audio book. It felt personal and engaging, which I truly appreciated. The book is without question practical in the sense that what Kaplan presents are empirical elements of gratitude.
I'd recommend this to anyone who (1) enjoys audio books and (2) is looking for something fun but that at the same time can b life changing if the subject matter is taken seriously and put into practice.

A positive and enriching read, filled with good reminders and practical ideas.

Not bad. Great ideas for gratitude practices. I will agree it can be a bit off-putting that she seems to have a pretty amazing life to begin with and while her concepts are useful; her stories made me want to poke my eyes out. I loved the examples she pulled from other people's lives however. I know, I know, haters gotta hate.
This book reminded me to be grateful for the things that I tend to overlook and take for granted. I have so much to be thankful for in this life and I need a book like this every once in a while to remind me to be in the moment and that I get to choose how I respond what happens to me.
