This was not my all time favorite book but still a good read. From boyfriends cheating and losing bestfriends to making new friends and starting a new life. It definitely makes you sympathize and root for the main character.

really not sure how to feel?? first of all i hated how cheating was like the main focus of this book and how it got romanticised and justified. like what? had no idea this was the trope going in. i liked the characters besides that and there were a lot of emotional moments. tbf id have been fine with ridge ending up with either of the girls.
what i cant look past is the homophobic undertone of sydney saying one of her major flaws was how she kissed a girl when she was youngee, the use of a transphobic word not once but twice and the use of ableist language throughout a book which clearly tried to represent the deaf community which is majorly hypocritical. im really disappointed by this and ultimately this book really didnt age very well.

I really enjoyed this book.
The way Colleen Hoover worked in the deafness was well done and it wasn’t really a happily ever after type ending

I liked that it ended on a nice note but also didn’t make me feel icky about anyone making a poor choice. Would definitely recommend this one!

<Spoiler Alert!>

“For her I bend, for you I break”

Ugh my high school hopeless romantic heart just dies for sappy romance novels even if all this book was about was cheating. That was a huge no for me to be honest I couldn’t fully get over the fact that Sydney is cheated on by her douche bag of a boyfriend in the beginning of the book just to go and fall in love with a guy who is completely off limits because *gasp* he has a girlfriend.

I know with my little rant your like but wait you gave it 4 stars how does that happen? Although I hated the main theme of this book you can’t not love Colleen Hoovers writing and style! I still loved this book and although what Sydney and Ridge had was completely  messed up it still ended up having a cute ending and they didn’t actually destroy Maggie’s life because she wanted an out so she could life her life to the fullest of her potential and she couldn’t bear to tell Ridge that until she learned her had feelings for another girl. Messed up but it works out in the end. I’m interested to see where this series leads in Maybe Not and Maybe Now. Will my heart get even more shattered by Colleen Hoover? Most likely.
