Matilda was my least favorite read of Roald Dahls so far. I didn't dislike it, I just think the story wasn't quite long enough and was missing something. Roald Dahl's books are all short but they don't feel underdeveloped like this one did.

“All the reading she had done had given her a view of life that they had never seen.”

This is the first time I have ever read Matilda (i haven't even watched the movie) and I really enjoyed the book. However, I don't know how to review it. But if I may say something about it, that would be 'this is a sad book'. Matilda is a brilliant child who suffers a lot. The hardships she and the kids in her school had to go through broke my heart.

Children are so precious and adults should do their best in trying to listen to them. So until we learn to understand them better, I hope that more great children books will be published for kids to take refuge in them.

Matilda is a young girl who extra- extraordinary. She reads a lot of books and has more wisdom than average adults. Her crooked parents don't let her read and force her to watch the television. They joined her to a school where there is a sweet teacher and a terrible headmistress who locks kids in a
narrow room covered with nails on all sides. Her father is a cheat who sells old second hand cars by making them look new. So, Matilda superglued her father's hat to his head and made him blond. Later she came to know that her headmistress, Miss Trunchbull was her Sweet teacher, Miss Honey's aunt. She learned that Miss Honey's father, Magnus was killed by miss trunchbull and miss trunchbull had tortured miss honey a lot. So in anger, matilda felt a force from her eyes and she could lift things without touching them and by making them float with her eyes. One day when miss trunchbull was inspecting the class, Matilda lifted the chalk with her eyes and wrote on the board, a scary message. After looking at it Miss trunchbull left the town. And later she lives with miss honey and leaves her parents.
