I fuck heavy with this author! she writes eco-dystopian novels but in the "this is a little too realistic and could actually probably happen" kinda way. this book is a love story. the end
The science is probably all wrong, but the characters and story are good enough that it didn't matter.
This is the coming-of-age story of Julia who learns about love and her family when the earth begins slowing its rotation, causing days and nights to become gradually longer and longer. Soon, gravity is affected as are peoples' physical and emotional well-being. It is a moving and at times terrifying story about confronting expectations, such as whether the sun will rise in the morning, and what happens when those expectations are confounded.

I can't decide on a 3 or a 4. I tout the book was well written, and the author really captured that "feeling" of being of middle school age. I loved that the narrator experienced many of the "normal" problems of a teen/preteen, even while living in extraordinary times. I guess I was a bit Unsatisfied with the ending...and am left a little depressed by it. You could say its the mark of a good writer to so influence your mood... Now, on to a lighter topic!
