The perfectly imperfect series is definitely one of my go to series for Mafia, as its always so good! Sweet Prison is just another great book for this series. I'd definitely recommend reading Darkest Sins first as it gives so much depth to Sweet Prison.
Zahara has fallen in love with her stepbrother, who she hasn't seen since she was an infant, whilst he's been in prison. Massimo isn't the same man that was sent away but he knows what he wants, even if he can't have it.

I don't want to give too much away incase it's a spoiler for Darkest Sins but just know that the two books go hand in hand and are both well worth the read!

Lets start this with saying, I have been so excited to read this book for a long time. Well since the last book but you get what I mean. So color me surprised that I didn’t realize it was available on kindle! Y’all know exactly what happened. I downloaded that thing so fast and finished it in two days. I have no problems saying I have a strong addiction to this entire series but I was absolutely obsessively waiting to get my hands on this book.

Author Neva Altaj continues to write one amazing book after the other with this series. I continue to think the previous book is my favorite and then I read the next and I am not so sure. Now I will say this one is a top contender for number 1. I look forward to this being in audio form this summer. Now this one though I loved how they built a relationship without actually meeting each other. It was purely falling for the other persons mind. A true, getting to know the person first and then the rest came as a benefit.

I am not fully sure how Neva does it but these books flow so smoothly. It feels so tranquil and free flowing to see how these characters are going to handle life and fall in love. Obviously its also a bit hectic with the crime side but in general, the books are so well written, that I can easily read these books in a few days. The writing style is what has my attention and then the plots come in and have me hooked and ready for the next one. I think this dynamic is perfect and exactly what I love seeing when reading. Also if you don’t know, there is another series coming from this series. This series is the parents and the next series is the kids from these couples. The first one in that series is available and downright amazing. Best believe I was on that one fast! 10/10 I highly recommend this series!

I mean at this point is it really shocking that I love her books?

Massimo and his double personality were mad funny
emotional tense fast-paced
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

Massimo has been in prison for 18 years even though he was supposed to get a plea deal.
Zahara is his stepsister and stumbles into spying for him through letters.
Once he is out they are both fighting the intense attraction to each other as it is a taboo they aren’t sure will be easily overcome in the mafia. He also has to figure out who is sabotaging him from within the organization.

wow this is hard for me. I feel so disappointed, the majority of the book is "the beginning" of their relationship and that doesn't bother me because I'm too much of a fan of their letters hahaha but then it got strange, I don't know, the plot and the path the author wanted to follow regarding their relationship lost it way. In addition, the individual development of the characters was quite poor, for example, Zahara went from being an insecure and shy girl to exhibitionism and in front of people who were not willing participants, it was quite uncomfortable to read, that characteristic felt very strange. I think the author wanted to exploit body positivity and it turned out badly. Massimo, although I love him very much!!! I feel that this book was not for him, the plot failed him. You deserved so much more baby! Well, not to mention the "plot twist" that was clearly visible from the first moment, and with everything that Zara was under surveillance, it makes no sense that Massimo would not have found out anything. It felt so unreal (which is saying something hahaha) I feel that when the author tries to write female characters "equal to her partners" she loses a lot in the story. This book has that in common with the story of Isabella and Luca, it tries to make the characters "powerful and intelligent queens" but in the end they end up showing themselves badly. ugh it makes me very angry that I didn't like it as much as I expected. Oh well I still have the other books, they don’t disappoint me ever.
