Some things i loved: Zahara and Massimo’s story. their atypical story made their relationship and therefore this book so unique.
i enjoyed that the book spanned over the course of their entire lives and we got quite a bit of backstory into their relationship as step-siblings and individual experiences before their relationship as a couple. it was beautiful getting to witness the jail letters and how their affection grew without ever meeting. When they finally did meet, the emotion was so palpable. it was such a good story set up. i loved how they loved and helped one another come to accept and find pride in her vitiligo and his alternate id.
The writing was good. i feel like it flowed much better in this book than previous ones.

things i didn’t love: wtf happened to their step mom? i know the dad was killed but it never said anything about the mom being taken out too and then she just disappeared from the story??
it was sooooo obvious who the betrayer was beginning half way through the book lol.
there were some moments were the inner dialogues dragged.

Ignore me, I’m biased.

It took me a bit to get into this one since there’s a lot of back-and-forth between pen pal letters and flashbacks, but once I got past that, I was fully on Zahara’s side. She’s a bad b**ch, and in my eyes, Massimo can do no wrong.

All the MMCs in this series share a similar vibe: morally grey, dominant, and totally unwilling to take any crap. But the second someone even looks at their FMC the wrong way? Well, they’re dead. Literally.

The plot was a bit predictable, but again, biased. I loved the characters, the chemistry was chef’s kiss spicy, and yes, they’re step-siblings (I know, right?). This couple is definitely one of my top 5 of the series so far.

The climax wasn’t that intense but overall a good book
