A quick read with chapters outlining the basic tenants for success during the workday. If you read Ms. Vanderkam's other short books from her What the Most Successful People Do... series, most of those findings are repeated here.

Though this book is informative with an engaging, lively writing style and insightful research, I prefer her long-format books, [b:All the Money in the World: What the Happiest People Know About Getting and Spending|11797411|All the Money in the World What the Happiest People Know About Getting and Spending|Laura Vanderkam|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1348215241s/11797411.jpg|16750195] and [b:168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think|7847359|168 Hours You Have More Time Than You Think|Laura Vanderkam|https://d202m5krfqbpi5.cloudfront.net/books/1389701947s/7847359.jpg|10958350] - they are meatier tomes full of advice on evaluating the value you place on money and time, respectively.

“Success” is a slippery word: This is a book about personal effectiveness at work.

This book didn’t go to lengths to define success and it didn’t give me any remarkable new ideas or present little-known research.

However, I don’t mind being reminded of common sense things that are easy to forget in the everyday slog and it gave me a little enthusiasm boost in my week.
