The beginning started strong. It was interesting to be in Meg’s head as she planned all of her cons.
But the book took a turn and became tedious to follow.
I liked Meg but I found Kat boring. When I was on Kat’s pov, I dredged through just waiting to return to Meg.
And Kat forgiving Meg for what Cory did to her so abruptly after literally spending her entire career and life out for Meg because of it? Nah. That didn’t work. In fact, she probably should have used the logic that she magically decided to use on the last page of the book and realize that Meg had no control over Cory. I found this huge plot point convoluted.
In the end Meg did stick it to Ron. But, it didn’t feel as satisfying as it should have. With all the build up leading up to it.

I listened to this as an audiobook and really enjoyed it. I liked the different points of view throughout the book and the past and present aspect. Good suspense novel that keeps you interested the whole time. Not the same plot line but gave me The Last Mrs. Parrish vibes.

4.5 ⭐️ Loved this book and the overall theme! It was a little predictable but a page turner at the same time! The crafty development of Meg’s and Kat’s characters made you root the female vigilante con artist.

Listened to this on audible and it was just okay! I didn’t love the narration so that definitely impacted my likeness of the book. I liked how the story and drama kind of flipped halfway through and the ways that the book tied the past stories into the present storyline was great. The story seemed a bit dragged out though and didn’t love it - not sure I would have gotten through had I been reading.
