So sweet and cute!

Oh my goodness this one was adorable.

Arus meets Mia when her shoe gets caught in a tree root at the park. Right off the bat, the two of them have a super cute connection and I really enjoyed watching them together. He goes to get coffee at the cafe she works at every day, and it was so cute to watch both of them (independently) talk about that being the highlight of their days. Nitpick: It’s a little crazy that they go from “just met” to HEA as fast as they do (the plot only takes place over a couple days, I think), but it didn’t affect my enjoyment of it.

Arus is a giant teddy bear cinnamon roll and I loved him. I also appreciated Mia’s struggle for independence and learning to rely on someone (Arus). Her mom was super obnoxious though. Worst helicopter mom I’ve ever read about.

This novel is concurrent with the next one in the series, so it was really fun to get sneak previews of that since the two heroes are best friends.

4.5 stars. Arus, the male alien mercenary lead, and Mia, the female human lead, both agree that neither of them wants a long term relationship but they are attracted to each other so they decide to enjoy that, even though Mia’s mother is anti-alien and keeps setting her up with a creepy human doctor, because “he’s a doctor”. Then they both catch feelings...

This story is dual POV, well written, and a lot of fun, as well as being a great commentary on prejudice and how it affects relationships. I really enjoyed the interactions of the lead characters with secondary characters which really helps with world building.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Another alien romance. This time for Arus and Mia. Mia is one of the kidnapped earth women on Reka 5. She makes the most of being here, getting a job and making friends with the locals. It is a quick read sweet romance with the usual interactions with friendly people, both alien and humans from earth, and nasty people who cause trouble and then a happy ever after ending.

Arus is an alien mercenary, just looking for a good time, or is he? Mia is an abducted human who has been saved by the Tallen and is living in a safe haven and working at a pastry shop. The protective fencing keeps breaking, wild animals attacking, and girls going missing. All things that make for a good read. This is not a long story, but it is a good one. I enjoyed it and would recommend it.
