Not my first Graley comic novel and I didn’t expect to like this as much as I did. The art is expressive and coloured appealingly. I enjoyed the little bit of creepy and the little bit of silly humour. But it was the middle grade story that surprised me with identity & friendship themes that did not get didactic or talk down to kids. A pleasant surprise.

Where was this book when I was a kid? Donut is born into a family of villains and is expected to follow in her family's footsteps. Her best friend, Ivy, is even a villain-in-training. However, Donut dreams of being a hero and will do anything it takes to be the good guy/gal. Through these pages, she overcomes obstacles and steadily tries to break the stigma everyone else has of her family by doing good deeds and being kind. I absolutely loved this graphic novel about going after your dreams, despite what your friends or family may say. Hoping for a sequel!

A hilarious little comic about friendship and change. I loved the over-the-top illustrations and colors. Good representation in the characters too.

I don’t remember much detail about this book but it was fun, and I’d rather write reviews for books I read ages ago than read right now apparently.
This book was fun, not bad characters, I liked the art, I enjoyed it, and kind of quirky. And Donut The Destroyer just sounds cool.
