I learned halfway through that the cover is Ai.. ew.
Other than that i really enjoyed my reading, the plot could have been better and there was some repetition but i loved the dynamic between Maddie and Saff so much i just COULDN’T stop listening.

Really enjoyed reading this throughout the whole book. There wasn't any boring parts and the action kept me on my toes at all times.

This was one of those books that was a fun read but had pacing issues. I don’t feel like I got 500+ pages worth of plot from this story. Half of the problem may have been the fact that the author had issues with filler words. E.g ‘slight’, ‘seems’ and others I don’t remember. Also if I hear ‘loosened a breath’ one more time I am going to scream.

However, I think all of these things were down to editing rather than content. The plot was a pretty standard zombie apocalypse romance, with all the beats you would expect. But they were done well and the characters really make the story. So all in all it was an okay read. I do wish the author had done more with Maddie and her disability though, because although it was good rep the author really didn’t take the opportunity that Maddie’s perspective granted them regarding prose. I was surprised there wasn’t more interesting descriptions of sound from her POV.
