In a zombie apocalyptic world, Saff finds herself almost killing Maddie by missing her shot. Maddie being blind finds herself with Saff alone, surviving together. Every day eith each other they grow closer. Despite Maddie being blind never once Maddie was orotaryed as useless, hopeless or pitied. The suspense and yearning between these two was palpable, my heart ache for these two. Lori price thr voice actress made these two women come alive with her voice acting, feeling their thoughts and emotions that made me love saff and Maddie even more.

This one came highly recommended and it was quite good.   I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about Saff and Maddie, since it really all depends on how the enemies to lovers transition is handled and I don’t always find it credible.  I’m happy to say that this one worked for me.

The book surprised me at times with the directions it took (in a good way). The author doesn’t seem to feel the need to tightly wrap up every loose end before moving on (
e.g. we don’t see Dean suffer any consequence for being a total scumbag
), and it adds some unpredictability.

There are a few things that likely will keep it from being one that I return to over and over.  There were times where Saff was in a jam simply because she just chooses not to provide an  explanation or communicate, even though that would have been quite straightforward.  Other things just struck me as strange. For example. I really feel like Saff did not get the best reception from Maddie’s family or friends.
She safely protected their blind daughter through a zombie infested wasteland, and they seemed lukewarm
.  It was things like that around the book that just seem a bit odd.

Lori Prince was excellent, as usual.

DID NOT FINISH: 37%

Flat characterization, repetitive dialogue descriptions("muttered" and a lot of grunting), way too long for the kind of story it is.

oh I love my little lesbians, maddie is everything to me. However it did not need to be as long as it was. Also, a bit emosh at the end but I'm happy it never became a "bury your gays" trope
