I was recommended this book by a co-worker and I'm glad she did! I finished this book in ONE DAY. It grabbed me by the first paragraph and didn't let go until I read the last page.
I love a forbidden romance, and this definitely has that. It has a bad boy (make that several bad boys), danger and death lurking around every corner. Did I mention a Love triangle too?
It definitely had me rolling my eyes at Trace's obliviousness to everything going on. But overall, I enjoyed it and plan on immediately starting the next book in the series.
Pick up this book if you like YA contemporary romance.

Story definitely had potential but was runied wit trace and her crying through whole damn book
Hands down...absolutely the worst book I ever read and that is saying a lot. I don't know what to think of the book and I was even more confused to see it received high ratings. It deserves less than one star. I could not get past chapter 3. I thought it was a joke at first...just speechless.
This was... interesting.
I will start by recapping the comments I made as status updates:
-I got this one as an audio book-I do not care much for the voice of the woman who is reading it.
-I made the mistake of reading a negative review before starting the book. It compared it to Ouran High School Host Club and I can definitely see it. They also said that this book is highly unrealistic in its representation of a real college- I can see that too. It would be better off as a boarding school than a college"
-Despite being a combination between ouran high school and 50 shades like the one review I read pointed out, I'm actually now sort of hooked
-What in the world just happened. What is with this attack. Even worse. What in the world is up with her screaming all that. Why would she demand him to promise her that. I don't care if she thinks she's going to die. It was one thing to accidentally state out loud her realization, but to repeat herself and go on and on? No. Bad. That's forcing the story to progress in a really stupid way
and then, all that mafia crap started! In the end this book turned out to be really really weird. The voice of the reader drove me insane. I am going to read the sequel and actually read it opposed to getting it as an audio book because I can't stand another minute of her voice.
Also- I have a feeling three is going to be a love triangle. I am almost on team Chase over Nixon... We will have to wait and see what happens!

So here’s the deal.
Elite is a lot of fun.
It’s not the greatest writing you’ll ever encounter nor does it have the most mind-blowing plot twists, but it is a really good time.
There are some things about this that irked me—mostly the old plot device of everyone withholding information from the main character in order to “protect” her. But you’ve heard that all before from me.
I won’t bore you again. Mostly so that I don’t sound like a broken record who is telling authors to get off her lawn.
I would very much like for authors to be on my lawn.
Not literally. I’d probably get a ticket from the city for something like that. (My city is really into giving out tickets.)
Anyway, Elite is fun! There’s a private college with designer clad, sycophantic, perhaps psychotic students! A girl who is from Wyoming and sometimes moos at people! Mysterious intrigue! VIOLENCE!
It’s a perfect, pulpy read for a lazy afternoon or that random weekend night you find yourself without plans. It’s fast-paced, very entertaining, and you can definitely knock it out in one sitting.
So if you’re looking for something that is fun, a bit mindless, but also engrossing, and you don’t mind if your characters are brooding, rich, and packing heat (by that I mean guns. Not some obscure penis reference.), then Elite will definitely fit the bill.

Someway along my reading journey, since I read London Miller's Volkov Bravta series, I was enchanted by mafia books. (Don't ask me why, because I don't know the answer yet.) Anyway, I believe I read this book a long time ago but I didn't finish reading it, mostly because I read the end and I discovered it was going to have a freaking love triangle *hands in the air* Why?....
So years later, here I am, and I must say I enjoyed the book. I admit at some point I hated Nixon 'cause the way he treated Trace *ugh* and also at some point Tracey got on my nerves because, even though she challenged him, she did nothing. Moving on, the plot is wonderful. I loved it. It's really well built and the schemes, the romance, and the suspense are really good.
Can't wait to read the second book and hopefully there will be no more character disappointments.

Hmmm, what to say
I am way too old for the desired demographic but I do love a good teen angst book. For some reason I had the mistaken idea that this was a paranormal book so I was waiting for a big reveal that didn't happen.
I still don't get the Elite part of it or the stupid rules. Also, and I feel a bit hypocritical for saying this, sheesh does Trace cry alot! Honestly I get that bullying, especially by large numbers of children, is horrible and scary but she was like a watering can constantly falling down and sobbing.
Also, why were the other kids so mean?
Anyhoo, I did enjoy the book but it left me with more questions than answers.
Also, without giving away too many spoilers, Nixon was a bit of a cry baby too - his character didn't seem very realistic to me, either he is a normal teenager trying to do the best he can with a lot of responsibility or he fully embraces his destiny - in which case man up FFS!
